Laser Genesis

What Does Laser Genesis Do?
The Laser Genesis procedure utilizes laser technology that can safely, discretely and effectively treat small targets like fine undesirable facial vessels or vessels that cause diffuse redness. It can produce dramatic improvement in uneven skin texture, large pores, and fine line wrinkles. Over the course of four to six treatments, Laser Genesis therapy can restore your skin's youthful glow and appearance by smoothing out uneven textures caused by aging, sun damage, or scars. You will see a more creamy, healthy complexion as large pores are reduced in size, and minor imperfections are diminished. Additionally, it may be used to diminish scars on other parts of the body.

Is the Treatment Painful?
No. Laser Genesis is a comfortable, non-ablative, non-invasive treatment. Unlike other laser treatments it does not wound the skin's surface therefore virtually eliminating the need for complicated post treatment care. Typically patients describe the treatment as a gentle warming of the surface. The treatment does not require any anesthetics, creams or gel.

Titan

How Does the Titan Skin Tightening Technology Work?
The infrared light travels through the surface to the deeper layers of the skin causing tightening of the collagen architecture. Because the heat is applied deep within the skin, some swelling and redness may be seen. The procedures takes approximately one hour.

The results of Titan Skin Tightening Technology may be seen immediately or within a few weeks of the treatment, however the full benefits are usually not observed for three to six months. This is probably the most difficult part of this procedure as the effects of the treatment are usually not seen immediately.

The advantage of the Titan over the therma-lifting techniques are that the skin and underlying fat is heated uniformly avoiding differential heating of the fat; therefore, the risks of dents and atrophy of the skin are much less likely.

How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment has produced very good results for some patients. At the time of the consultation we will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.

What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours.

Laser Hair Removal

What areas can be treated with GentleYag systems?
The GentleYag Laser System can remove hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line.

What do GentleYag laser treatments feel like?
As the name implies, the GentleYag handpiece cools and soothes as it glides along your skin. When the pulse of light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required, however some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated.

How many treatments will I need?
Most areas require 3-6 treatments, but the number of GentleYag treatments you may require for optimal long-term benefits depends on various factors such as your hair's thickness, the area treated, and your hair's growth cycle. Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time, but actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. GentleYag systems work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?
Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away. However, since some redness may occur, you may want to plan your work or social engagements accordingly. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun. As always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure. In addition, your provider may recommend that you use a specially formulated skin care product line or prescribe a skin care regimen especially formulated for your skin type.

Why choose our Xeo Gentle Yag laser over other laser hair removal systems?
Using the latest technology in laser hair removal, GentleYag Laser Systems can rapidly treat large areas without the limitations of older technologies. The GentleYag system's longer wavelength allows it to be used safely and effectively on patients with light or dark skin as well as tanned skin. Unlike other systems, GentleYag lasers can treat the fine hair on a woman's upper lip just as easily and effectively as the coarse hair on a man's back. The cooled handpiece increases patient comfort and minimizes the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other lasers.

IPL

What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light systems are exceptionally effective at treating pigmented lesions and diffused redness. The visible light delivered by the IPL is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots or redness in your skin. This treatment is sometimes referred to as photo-rejuvenation.

What areas can be treated?
We can treat sunspots, freckles, and/or redness on any part of your body. The most popular areas for treatment are the face, chest, shoulders arms and hands because they have suffered from the most sun exposure.

What does it feel like?
When the handpiece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief stinging sensation. Immediately following the treatment, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically, three or five treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or dark spots or for densely covered areas.

When will I see results?
Most patients find that the majority of their treated spots have shown significant improvement within two to three weeks of treatment. However, your final result may not be apparent for a several months.

Vein therapy

What is laser vein removal?
Laser technology offers a very effective means of treating spider veins. The laser has a unique ability to selectively target blood vessels without adversely affecting surrounding tissues. Laser light is specifically absorbed by the spider veins. The vessels are gently heated, causing the blood in the vessels to collapse. The body reabsorbs the treated blood vessels during the natural healing process.

What are the alternatives to laser vein removal?
Sclerotherapy is the most commonly used method of non-laser vein removal. Like laser treatment, it is relatively inexpensive and can be performed on an outpatient basis. Sclerotherapy requires multiple sessions. One to three injections are usually required to effectively treat any vein. Post-treatment therapy may include wearing support hose for two days to two weeks following treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending upon the severity of the veins, you may require between 1 and 3 laser treatments, spaced at 6 weeks apart. The treatment is performed on the existing blood vessels, diminishing or completely eliminating their appearance. However, any new developing veins cannot be prevented.

What happens to the skin after the treatment?
Patients may experience some temporary redness, swelling or bruising. This doesn't happen often, and is typically gone within a few hours. Others may experience pigmentary changes in skin color, but these will disappear and return to normal over time. Since laser treatment does not burn or cut the skin in any way, no bandages are necessary, and you can return to your normal activities immediately.
